Wastewater Treatment
Hydrotesting of pipelines has become standard procedure in the United States as a means to ensure the integrity of the line. Upon disposal, the water used in this testing, in most cases, is determined to be hazardous waste by either state environmental agencies or the EPA. Contamination of this water by crude oil, BTX's, finished hydrocarbon products, and heavy metals presents the pipeline company with an extremely high disposal cost for the water. At a cost of 45 cents per gallon and up for disposal fees, this cost could easily run into several million dollars per year for disposal alone.
Ven-Tech would like to present a mixed media filtration system that can clean the water to below discharge limits of the state environmental agencies and the EPA which would allow disposal of the water to a ground source or waterway. This process would significantly reduce the disposal cost of wastewater to the pipeline company. This system, which utilizes organoglays, granular activated carbon, and Ven-Tech's exclusive Extract 2000 fibers, can be designed to fit your application, contaminates, and flow rates. Ven-Tech can also provide on site testing as well as disposal of the contaminated filtration media or on site bio-remediation of the contaminated media.
